John Walker got whooped baby! He got beat down again. But this fight isn’t about the pleasure of smacking John Walker. It is actually about control over the shield, whoever carries the shield bears the responsibility and legacy of it. Walker has disgraced the symbol and legacy by using it to kill a man in cold blood. The power of representation of the United States hangs in the balance.
As I write this we in the USA await the verdict of the man who killed George Floyd. The decision that occurs from the jury will be a major representation of the justice system and black people. As Sam Wilson holds the shield in the aftermath of the fight he wipes away the blood of Nico from the shield, I hope the people of the United States want to wash away the blood that has marred the country.
It remains to be seen if Sam can bring restoration and improvement to the shield and the mantle of Captain America.

I have to admit that I am shocked. Pleasantly shocked, but undeniably shocked. Kevin Fiege, the show writers, and Disney have done a masterful job of articulating multiple views of black thought of patriotism and being black in the USA.
I never thought I would see this type of commentary from a majority white production company. This series is a risk for Disney as they know who their target demographic are and a lot of money could be lost due to this dialogue. What dialogue do you wonder? By having Isaiah Bradley say “They will never let a black man be Captain America. And even if they did, no self respecting black man would ever wanna be.” Keepin’ it 100, I completely agree with Isaiah, and I used to be the hopeful for the future brotha like Sam. Isaiah said his piece and left Sam to make his own way and his own decision for the future. I think Sam wanted to give the shield to Isaiah as it was earned and deserved for his service. Maybe in hopes to spark some hope in Isaiah that had died. I recommend reading Truth: Red, White, and Black.
“They will never let a Black man be Captain America. And even if they did, no self-respecting Black man would ever wanna be.” -Isaiah Bradley
Sam and Bucky having a great talk while tossing the shield around (where was the scene where Sarah lost it for destroying the tree with the shield?). Sam is still hopeful despite the “complicated” legacy of the shield and Bucky helps that hope with an honest apology. After all the constant badgering of why Sam gave up the shield he hadn’t once considered what it meant to give that symbol to a black man. But hope is a powerful thing, and hope will fuel Sam to keep fighting when others do not. Hope is why Sam’s nephews are seen playing and admiring the shield. Hope keeps Sarah from giving up on the legacy represented in the Wilson family boat. Hope that people would see beyond his blackness fueled the shield training montage.
But Sam wasn’t done with Bucky, using grief and trauma counseling again, Sam challenges Bucky to do the hard work of offering closure to his victims families, as opposed to just seeking closure for himself.
Bucky needs to stop smiling at Sarah before he gets jumped.
Walker lied to the Hoskins’ about Lemar’s death and Lemar’s sister wasn’t buying it.
Ain’t NOBODY see Julia Louis-Dreyfuss coming! How will they use Val???
Great handoff of the wings from Sam to Torres.
Is Val a Skrull?? SHIELD agent? HYDRA?
Will the MCU kill of Batroc in the episode 6 showdown?
Will we get the reveal of the Power Broker? You know it’s 50 Cent.
WHAT IS IN BOX?? It’s gotta be the suit.
